BOIL WATER NOTICE
July 01, 2025
Boil water notice, ONLY HWY 80 West from Muntz Cutoff to Cold Water Creek. You will be notified when the boil water notice is lifted.
Boil Water Notice for West Harrison WSC TX 1020078 07/01/2025
This notice only applies to customers on US HWY 80 West located between Muntz C/O and Cold Water Creek
Due to a water outage caused by a fiber contractor strike, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required the West Harrison Water Supply, public water system to notify all customers to boil their water prior to consumption (e.g., washing hands/face, brushing teeth, drinking, etc). Children, seniors, and persons with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria, and all customers should follow these directions).
To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled and cooled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes. The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.
In lieu of boiling, individuals may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source for drinking water or human consumption purposes.
When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, the public water system officials will notify customers that the water is safe for drinking water or human consumption purposes.
Once the boil water notice is no longer in effect, the public water system will issue a notice to customers that rescinds the boil water notice in a manner similar to this notice.
Please share this information with all the other people who drink this water, especially those who may not have received this notice directly (for example, people in apartments, nursing homes, schools, and businesses). Customer Water Service Announcement
May 15, 2025
Attention: Multiple fiber crews are working in our water system. This will be an ongoing project that will affect various areas at different times. We have experienced, and will continue to experience damage to our water lines. Contractors and staff are working together to keep damages to a minimum. However, due to the nature of directional drilling near and across water lines without tracer line, damages will occur. Please leave any blue marking flags in your yard to help prevent damage as much as possible. Subcontractors that are installing the fiber lines work for multiple companies. The majority of the contractors you will see will be installing a rural fiber network. Our staff will remove flagging after work is completed for the system.
